Updates! Wonderful Yarny Things and Health Issues

Happy Saturday everyone! I have some updates for you.

Back in April I was working on the tiny jointed bear pattern, my little Berry Bear that fits inside the strawberry pouch (the pouch is already available here).

It was supposed to be published by now but life took a turn! I got super sick and even spent time in the hospital. I've actually been sick since September 2016. I spent 2 moths in the hospital at the end of last year. It was a mystery then, whatever it was attacked my liver, spleen, heart and lungs. It was a scary time for me and my family. Although I did let people know I was ill, I didn't talk too much about all the scary things publicly as we had no idea what it even was. The doctors were stumped.
I came home in Dec, starting feeling good in Jan.. felt a bit sick in March then April it hit me again like a ton of bricks. I was admitted to hospital on May the 8th and diagnosed on the 11th with ulcerative colitis. This is brutal auto immune disease with no cure. I'm still learning about it.
I'm on good medications right now and each day I feel better and better! I'm thinking positive thoughts all the time and believing for remission. Remission is possible!
Today is a good day :)

Anyway, the other night I started crocheting again! Feels awesome.

I was testing the bear pattern when I tweaked the head too much. In the end I thought the head looked like a puppy. A cute one too so I decided to make that into a pattern for you.. then I thought how many would prefer a big cuddly sized one.. so guess what's also in the making? lol I've been working steady the last couple days on these! I don't have dates, each will come out on different days as I finish them.

There's also one more pattern I've almost finished, it's a weird one, lol I will talk more about that later.

Lots of love! I hope you all are having a yarny weekend. See you soon...

  7. Ohhh my dear!
What a SH.T period it must be, and unfortunately it still will be, for you ....and your loved ones.

A name for a disease in not import, more important is: can it be treated and is it life threatening? (my opinion)

It's sooo good to read that your are on good medications right now and feeling better every day!

Sooo right about positive thinking; it's half the cure :-)

Wishing you ALL the best and health!
    XOXO

I'm sorry to hear of the MS, that's a tough one for sure. Maybe one day they will find cures for these things... until then we'll keep fighting the good fight.

      All the best to you!

    2. Dear Sharon,
I am glad that you found out what was ailing you. Maybe now you can head in the right direction with your treatment. I have been following you on facebook and using your patterns for a couple of years now, and am quite fond of you. You might want to google "Jake Deikman". He is a major league pitcher with the Texas Rangers baseball team. He has had ulcerative colitis since he was a child, and his story if very inspirational. You might get some new information for yourself in reading about him. Good luck with your new life challenge, and God Bless You!!!!

  10. My daughter was diagnosed with UC when she was 7 months old. She couldn't achieve remission and 2 years later had a total colectomy. I would like to make her a doll with an ileostomy and a removable stoma bag. Please consider designing something like this, many parents with IBD kids would love it.

  11. Hi...;Thank you so much for the wonderful patterns! I also want to share my empathy for your suffering. I too went through many years of sickness with no real answers. I literally spent close to year a complete invalid on mg own floor....! My initial crippling issue was a strain of the flu that left many healthy people dead. I couldn't recover. Then I was diagnosed with UC. But following that diet I got even sicker....finally Celiac....trying to follow that diet would irritate the UC. A vicious circle. Later was also found to be allergic to s hugh amount of food.
I am managing, but my immune system is very week. I am mostly home bound during cold and flu season and have just found this wonderful craft. You are very creative, Keep up the good work.
