Happy Birthday Dad!
It's my Dad's 81st birthday on the 30th of May 2014. Dad and I have a thing for the frogs. I don't know what it is but we both get a case of the giggles when we see certain frogs and my guess is Dad is going to giggle for sure when he sees this one on Friday!
This is a free pattern I found online and it's a pretty simple pattern using basic stitches. I used Red Heart Comfort yarn and a 4.5mm hook. Those eyes are large safety eyes that I painted myself with white and black acrylic craft paint then brushed on a clear coat of nail polish.
The pattern link is at the bottom of this post. Please enjoy more Frog photos as you scroll your way down!
awww, he really is a sweet froggy!
And he's quite large too!
15 and a little more inches all stretched out
A great pattern that's just fun to make :)

thanks so much!
DeleteI appreciate that :)
love your frog......and happy birthday to you and your dad.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I'm gathering his b-day wishes and giving them to him when he arrives later today.. I'll be sure to pass on yours :)
Deletelove!!! cute frog!!
ReplyDeleteHi love the frog but I have a question 2 sc-dec does it mean 2sc and then decrease!! or 2 decreases!!
ReplyDeletehi there.. it means crochet 2 stitches together.
Deletehey, i have a question about the ladies pattern. Did you work the pattern exactly as she has written, doing 6 of each - meaning that the rows went past the stitch marker? Or did you modify to only do 4 of each, so that you had less stitches than what she said, but stayed in rounds?
ReplyDeleteI did this one in 2014 so it's hard to remember if I modified anything. It might jar my memory if you told me what part you're speaking of though
DeleteHi Sharon, can you put this pattern in your words? I can't seem to understand it. I love yours so much I want to make it but I can't figure it out. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI made this frog back in 2014 as well. I also LOVE frogs and very fascinated with them. This free pattern was super easy and fast to whip up. I was thrilled to see you made it too. :)
ReplyDeleteI was on your site for the pig pattern, but have a thing for frogs myself. Wanted to tell you that I think yours is cuter than the one of the original pattern! Love the dark green color.
ReplyDeletethank you so much! He was super fun to make.. I think it's the dark green that makes him so cute for sure. My Dad loves him, it's still sitting on his dresser :)
