Gruffy The Goat

Meet Gruffy the Little Bigfoot Goat,
The tallest is about 6.5 inches tall
Date of birth: August 25th 2017 ~ pattern released April 4th 2018

Part of a series,
This goat is part of a series of animals that all use the same basic body pattern. You will need to make the basic body, link in the supplies list, then come back here for all the parts that make it a goat.

Supplies:
Basic OG LBF body pattern found here
same yarn and hook you used to make the body with
IF you want a large, medium and small. I used the same weight yarn for all of them and a 4.25mm hook, a 3mm hook, and a 2.5mm hook. That gave me 3 different sized goats
In the photo I actually used the same hook for the middle one as I did for the large one. It's that yarn color that works up a bit on the smaller side. To give you the option of a medium sized one in any color, I suggest the 3mm hook.
blunt end yarn needle for sewing
scissors
polyester stuffing
Optional: pipe cleaners for the horns. This is optional but the pipe cleaners do really help shape the horns. For those afraid of using them, I show you how to stitch them in so they don't move or ever poke through.
Eyes: The goats you see pictured have 7mm-8mm safety eyes in between the 6th and 7th row with 4 visible stitch holes between them. At the end of the video series I do show how to wrap yarn for the eyes if you do not have safety eyes.
Options for eyes: buttons, felt, paint, safety eyes, wrap yarn

Abbreviations:
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
ch1 = chain one
hdc = half double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
2tog = crochet 2 stitches together
f/o = finish off

How to read the rows: Each row has a sequence as given below. Example: 1sc then 2sc in next st means repeat that sequence 1sc then 2sc in next st followed by 1sc then 2sc in next st over and over to the end of that particular row. The number inside the parentheses ( ~ ) is the number of stitches you should have at the end of that particular row.

There is a full video tutorial for this Goat , with a video for each part of the pattern. You can use what you need and skip any video you don't need. Click here

f/o leaving a tail for sewing

ASSEMBLY: video for assembly part 1 here

1) sew on muzzle
The top of the muzzle is sewn on or about row 9 and the bottom on or about row 12. Pin muzzle in place before sewing.

Take your time and be sure it stays centered as you sew.

Leave a little gap for stuffing more in if needed. Use a stuffing stick and push the stuffing to the sides of the muzzle so it maintains its shape. Then close up the gap, knot off and hide yarn tail inside the head.

If you want a ridge on top of the nose: Pinch the top of the muzzle together. Using a strand of yarn the same color as the muzzle, sew to hold that pinched shape

Beard:
pull strands of white yarn through where you want the beard to start on the muzzle. (in between the 3rd and 4th row) Pull through about 7 strands through the 1st row and about 4 through the row under that. Split or unravel each strand to create a fuller beard

2) sew horns on either side of the center hole of row 1
3) sew the ears on just under the horns
4) sew tail on the back of the body
