Crochet IV Drip Pole

It's hard to believe it's hasn't even been a month yet since my daughter broke her leg. It was a scary first week after she broke her leg as we did not know if she would need corrective surgery. Turns out she is healing up fine w/o surgery and soon will have the cast removed!

During this time the days have flown by with hospital visits, x-rays and of course designing this amigurumi hospital series.. after all one must find the amigurumi inspirations during these tough times!

Since I made my first crocheted wheelchair I have received some of the most heart warming messages from people all over the world who have been in or are in wheelchairs or have loved ones in wheelchairs. It has been a truly touching and a humbling time for me. My heart goes out to all those of you who are dealing with crippling injuries, whether it's temporary like my own daughter's injury or be it a lifelong journey. May you all find physical and emotional healing.

    1. thanks so much! I appreciate your kind comments. I do a lot of my work at night when I should be sleeping, and this last month my mother has helped me out a lot by taking my youngest son quite a bit so I could get the wheelchair pattern published and the related patterns for it. I couldn't have done this without help from my family!

  2. thank you for taking the time to write this up and share it with us!!! I know several young people who will love this- its not often that toys come along that acknowledge that some folks need the "tool" of a wheelchair. Glad that your daughter will not have to have surgery!!!
